On July 17, 2026, Nawzad Ghafur Rabati, President of the Sulaymaniyah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Muhammad Rasul, Vice President, participated in a meeting with the Uzbek Minister of Agriculture.
Nawzad Ghafur Rabati, President of the Sulaymaniyah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stated that during the meeting, both sides emphasized their support for developing bilateral relations and cooperation, especially in the field of agriculture, developing local production, exchanging experiences, and benefiting from modern technologies and agricultural methods.
The Kurdistan Region delegation emphasized the importance of strengthening agricultural relations between the Kurdistan Region and Uzbekistan, and expressed their readiness to expand cooperation in the fields of horticulture, vegetable and fruit production, livestock and poultry projects, irrigation projects, and agricultural industries.
In return, the Uzbek Minister of Agriculture expressed his happiness with this visit and reaffirmed his support for expanding relations, indicating that his country is ready to share its experience and expertise in the field of modern agriculture, new technologies, and the development of production chains with the Kurdistan Region.
The Kurdistan Region trade delegation, headed by Gaylan Haji Saeed, President of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce of the Kurdistan Region, and Nawzad Ghafur, Vice President of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and President of the Sulaymaniyah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, along with Muhammad Rasul Safray, Sabir Amin, Ahmed Ali Kalari, Bahman Othman, and Khaled Hajji Ali, in addition to a number of directors of government departments in the Kurdistan Region, general directors of various ministries, the advisor to the Ministry of Agriculture, and a group of merchants from the Kurdistan Region, are participating in this trade trip to Uzbekistan.
