On May 14, 2025, Nawzad Ghafur, President of the Sulaymaniyah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sabir Amin, a member of the Chamber’s Executive Council, along with several companies from Sulaymaniyah Province, and accompanied by Darawan Haji Hameed, the Representative of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) in Spain, participated in the EXPOLIVA exhibition dedicated to olive products and agricultural machinery specialized in olive oil production.
Nawzad Ghafur, President of the Sulaymaniyah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stated that the purpose of the participation was to leverage the expertise of Spanish companies in olive oil production and agricultural products. Ten companies from Sulaymaniyah Province joined the exhibition to closely examine the latest innovations from Spanish companies.
He added: “We conducted a tour of the participating companies at the exhibition and held discussions on the newest agricultural advancements to maximize benefits for the Kurdistan Region and Sulaymaniyah’s farmers, while encouraging Spanish companies to invest in the province’s agricultural sector.”
The exhibition featured 300 companies from 14 countries, including Portugal, Tunisia, France, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Turkey, Greece, China, Morocco, Slovenia, the Netherlands, and Kurdistan-Iran.
