On December 7, 2025, Nawzad Ghafur, President of the Sulaymaniyah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, along with a number of investors and merchants in Sulaymaniyah city, received Mr. (Tommaso Sansone), the Consul General of the Republic of Italy, and his accompanying team.
The aim of the visit was to discuss commercial and industrial aspects between Sulaymaniyah Governorate and Italy, to give more attention to the sectors of industry, agriculture, tourism, and areas of economic development between both sides.
During the meeting, Mr. (Tommaso Sansone), the Consul General of the Republic of Italy, referred to strengthening relations in order to work appropriately on all sectors desired by both parties, and called for bringing an Italian trade delegation to Sulaymaniyah Governorate to become closely acquainted with the investment, industrial, and other sectors.
The President of the Sulaymaniyah Chamber of Commerce warmly welcomed Mr. (Tommaso Sansone), the Consul General of the Republic of Italy, and his team, describing this visit as a sign of establishing strong and effective relations in all fields, especially in the economic and commercial sphere.
He also indicated that in Sulaymaniyah Governorate, they believe this visit will be a new beginning for working on large and productive projects, and that all means are available to provide a safe work and business environment.
The Chamber President added that they hope this meeting will be a strong foundation for establishing a joint working team and continuous dialogue, so they can work together in the fields of agriculture, industry, tourism, and investment
