Workshop: Strengthening Iraq’s Green Economy with Financial Support for Sustainable Development
On June 16, 2025, Aram Baban, Obaid Ahmed, members of the Administrative Board of the Sulaymaniyah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, along with the Governor of Sulaymaniyah, a number of directors of government offices, representatives of the Central Bank of Iraq, the Iraqi Ministry of Environment, and the International Center for Finance and Trade, participated in a workshop on strengthening Iraq’s green economy.
The workshop was organized by the University of Sulaymaniyah and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) under the slogan “Strengthening Iraq’s Green Economy: Financial Support for Sustainable Development Momentum.” It brought together all relevant stakeholders, including government and non-governmental institutions, academics, and students in related fields.
A dedicated segment of the workshop highlighted projects initiated by youth that are environmentally friendly, showcasing innovations in recycling waste and repurposing it for small and medium-sized projects.
Part of the workshop was dedicated to showcasing environmentally friendly projects led by youth, who successfully developed them, brought their products to market, and created job opportunities.
