The President of Sulaymaniyah Chamber of Commerce Participates in the Opening of the Canadian-Kurdistan Iraq Business Council
On June 2, 2025, with the attendance of numerous public officials and local business figures, the Canadian-Kurdistan Iraq Business Council was inaugurated in the Kurdistan Region. This step was marked by the participation of Nawzad Ghafour, President of the Sulaymaniyah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, representatives from the Ministry of Trade, as well as heads of other chambers of commerce and several local business owners and company executives at the Rotana Hotel in Erbil.
Nawzad Ghafour, President of the Sulaymaniyah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stated that the opening of the Canadian-Kurdistan Iraq Business Council “creates an important opportunity” for Kurdish and Canadian businesses to collaborate economically.
He affirmed that Sulaymaniyah Province “is ready to welcome all Canadian companies and investors,” noting that the Sulaymaniyah Chamber of Commerce fully supports these initiatives in every way.
The opening of the Canadian-Kurdistan Iraq Business Council in the Kurdistan Region is expected to serve as a catalyst for economic growth and increased job opportunities between the Region and Canada.
