Merchants Assure Citizens of the Availability of All Necessary Goods
Due to the situation that has arisen in the region, the Sulaymaniyah Chamber of Commerce and Industry held a meeting with merchants to ensure the continuity of citizens’ needs and the absence of any risk of shortages or price increases.
On June 15, 2025, Nawzad Ghafur Rabati, President of the Sulaymaniyah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, along with Muhammad Rasul Safrai and Sheni Ikhtiyar, Vice Presidents of the Chamber, Burhan Ali, Sabir Amin, and Jawahar Star, members of the Chamber’s Administrative Council, welcomed Shaho Osman, Deputy Governor of Sulaymaniyah, representatives of Alawia Sulaymaniyah, representatives of Sulaymaniyah fuel stations, and a number of import merchants of goods and food items.
The merchants assured the availability of all necessary goods in warehouses, the continuity of imports, and the absence of any risks to the commercial situation.
During the meeting, Nawzad Ghafur Rabati, President of the Sulaymaniyah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, welcomed the Deputy Governor of Sulaymaniyah and the merchants, who expressed their readiness to closely discuss the commercial situation in Sulaymaniyah Governorate.
He stated: “The merchants have assured citizens that all necessities are continuously available in the market, and there are no issues in the import process.”
For his part, Shaho Osman, Deputy Governor of Sulaymaniyah, thanked the merchants and said: “Sulaymaniyah is known for its national merchants and capitalists, who have supported citizens in all crises. We are also ready to support the private sector.”
The Deputy Governor of Sulaymaniyah, on behalf of Mr. (Qubad Talabani) and the Sulaymaniyah local government, thanked the Sulaymaniyah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the merchants, and businesspeople who have consistently provided support in every crisis or unexpected event.
During the meeting, the problems and challenges faced by merchants were also discussed to make decisions on resolving them.
