On September 10, 2025, Mohammed Rasul and Shene Ikhtiyar, Vice Presidents of the Sulaymaniyah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, along with Kazew Kawa, Aram Baban, Bahman Osman, Jawahar Star, and Sabir Amin, members of the Chamber\u2019s Administrative Council, welcomed Bertrale Snoyer, Deputy Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the Kurdistan Region, and representatives and owners of 10 Dutch companies from various sectors.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

During the meeting, the Vice Presidents of the Chamber expressed their happiness with this visit and emphasized its importance, noting that this visit reflects the strength of economic and trade relations between the Kurdistan Region and the Netherlands, particularly Sulaymaniyah Province.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Mohammed Rasul, Vice President of the Sulaymaniyah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, indicated that the Chamber views this visit as an opportunity to enhance trade and investment cooperation, exchange expertise, and learn about the capabilities of both sides in various sectors.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

He also noted that Sulaymaniyah Province offers significant investment opportunities in agriculture, industry, energy, tourism, education, and health, expressing confidence that Dutch companies’ expertise could benefit these sectors.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The Vice President of the Chamber added that the Sulaymaniyah Chamber of Commerce and Industry guarantees Dutch companies full support and facilitation for joint work with companies in Sulaymaniyah across all sectors.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Within Sulaymaniyah Province, several Dutch companies have joint collaborations with local companies in the agriculture and livestock sectors, and several Dutch food brands are imported by Sulaymaniyah traders and distributed across all cities of Iraq.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

For her part, Shene Ikhtiyar, Vice President of the Chamber, mentioned that they aim to advance relations with the Netherlands across all sectors, as Sulaymaniyah Province has taken significant steps to promote investment in all fields.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Bertrale Snoyer, Deputy Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the Kurdistan Region, expressed her happiness that trade relations are progressing, particularly in the agricultural sector. She noted that the Consulate has solid plans to execute a series of projects and, in the future, will visit the Kurdistan Region with another trade delegation, especially to Sulaymaniyah, as some Dutch companies have been operating in the city for many years.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

She also mentioned that there are many commonalities between the two sides, and the Kurdistan Region is a trade gateway in the area.
